The Effects of Anxiety Disorders (And How to Cure Them Today)
Anxiety Disorders are quickly becoming an epidemic in our society. People are nervous about everything it seems. New situations, new people, new foods, new homes, new jobs, and even new relationships. Most of us have already thought about reasons to fear these things before they even come up. And what happens when they come up? All of the fears we have built up come crashing down on us at once.
Do any of these symptoms sound familiar?
- Finding yourself in the hospital because you thought you were having a heart attack only to be told later it was anxiety?
- Fearing you might stop breathing because your chest feels tight and your breathing too quick?
- Continually nervous and afraid you might lose control or go insane?
- Struggling daily with anxious thoughts that will not stop?
- Feeling uncomfortable in enclosed spaces such as supermarkets, cinemas, public transport or even sitting at the hair dressers?
- Nervous and on edge in normal situations that never bothered you before?
These symptoms are not fun and definitely indicate Anxiety. But does that necessarily mean that you have a disorder? A disorder is defined as a condition in which there is a disturbance of normal functioning. Psychologist all over the world will tell you that if you are experiencing the above symptoms, chances are you have an Anxiety Disorder. Myself, I dropped out of Psychology for exactly this reason.
If you feel happy all the time is that then a Happiness Disorder? According to the Psychological Community each of us should only feel a certain amount of emotions in a certain amount of time. Any imbalance in this prescribed machine-like schedule of emotions is seen as a disorder and generally implies that something is wrong with you. This is not how human beings work. We do not have a schedule, and we certainly do not have a manual.
If you are feeling anxious, the last thing you should do is listen to someone who tells you that you are anxious because you have a disorder. Why? Because you will start to become anxious about your anxiety disorder. You will deliberately add one more reason to be afraid and that will never help you (it will, however, keep you paying the bills of the psychologist who is 'helping you'). If you want to beat this anxiety then you have to go straight to the reason you have it. You.
Before you started thinking about all the reasons to be afraid, were you? No. In fact, before you started thinking about all the things that could go wrong at the grocery store it seemed like an easy trip. That is because it WAS an easy trip and still is, you are just making it hard on yourself. Remember the quote There is Nothing to Fear but Fear itself? It is a trap. In fact, there is nothing to fear, including fear itself. Choose to believe it and you will see it for yourself!
Don't Panic! (especially about your panic). Stop thinking that anxiety is hard to get over, it is not. End the Anxiety Loop in One Move and never worry about it again.
